Genesis 2:15-18

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Hello friends, yes that’s me in the title, is it you too? Well yes really, we are from the very beginning disobedient, we have our own things in life that we want to accomplish and we don’t like people telling us what to do! There’s no way I’m going to become a gardener and keep some plot of land in order for us to live off, I’m off to the city! And there it is, just standing in front of me, the ‘tree of knowledge’. Nice crunchy apples, lovely. I’m still standing here, nothing has happened, I haven’t been struck down or anything. Mmm! my lady friend over there persuaded me to eat of the tree of life actually, these words I’ve just spoken she put into my head, and the devil serpent put those thoughts into her head. Now we know, now we are aware, now I’m getting embarrassed standing here naked. I’ll cover myself up…

Friends how do we get back to tending the Garden of Eden again. We can you know, through Jesus Christ! Just imagine just obeying God. Living a life in paradise quite close to living in heaven. Keeping on going back in life, repenting of every single sin man has committed until we are back to Adam and Eve. Don’t taste the apple! Of course it’s too late and impractical to do that, however, cleansing our soul of ours and our forefather’s sin can only help get near to Eden again. Them sins can continually be ticked off mind you, and at a great speed when we are in continual communion with Christ. We don’t have to take a rib and form Eve, that’s already been done, though there’s no harm in remembering that woman was formed from man (explains folks sexual orientation don’t you think  with a little imagination). The animals are still in our garden, oxen, giraffe, lions, tigers and bears oh and be careful of the venomous snake. The numbers on our planet are close to 7 billion, 2 people from the beginning, we’ve come a long way – and I don’t really fancy doing gardening so things have certainly changed. The rate people have changed into people like me has really sky rocketed over what seems a short period of industrial revolution time. What’s the answer friends.

Quite simply put, JESUS. So dear Jesus please help me to like gardening again, to remember my sin filled soul then Adam and Eve starting this off by eating the forbidden fruit, and the beautiful fact sweet Jesus that with your love we can be put back very nearly to that moment of God’s perfection, and lead a more Godly life.

Just a little walk in memory lanes ‘Garden of Eden’ friends. I hope something comes out of this for yourselves. Amen.

  1. When I was treeplanting on the Queen Charlotte Islands in Canada most of the islands have never had a human set foot on them (except to be logged). The animals had never seen humans before so were not afraid of us. The water was pure from mountain rivers. I loved to sit there and play my flute as a love song for our Beloved. It was the closest I have been to the Garden of Eden. There was an amazing closeness with Jehovah there.

    1. Gee, that sounds fantastic. I once read there are certain Holy People very close to God who live in the frozen wastelands tundra around Russia. The solitude ( supplies once every six months) really connected with God. A wonderful experience in Canada.
